COVID 19: ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT SETS ASIDE #350 MILLION FOR ISOLATION CENTRE

The Enugu State Government has approved three hundred and thirty million naira for equiping the state isolation center, which has been relocated from Colliery Hospital to Enugu State University Teaching Hospital Parklane.

According to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeanyi Agujiobi, who briefed journalists after an emergency state Executive Council meeting held at the government house, explained that the meeting with the council was to discuss the preparedness of  the emergency response team of the ministry.

He said the approved fund would also serve for the purchase fully fitted incidents vehicles and ambulances, health protective gears, hand sanitisers and other equipment to manage and combat any case of the Lassa Fever and Coronavirus (Covid 19).

Dr. Agujiobi futher mentioned that advocacy and training of health officials on how to better manage the incident, if confronted with any, would also be explored.

He called on the public to also use the toll free lines 117 and 112 as well as an emergency dedicated line 08182555550 to report any case. 

The ministry of health had on the 15th of this month reported a case of suspected covid 19 case of a 70 year old woman who tested negative after a test was conducted.
