ASUP SUSPENDS 15 DAYS NATIONWIDE STRIKE
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has suspended its nationwide strike, fifteen days after the industrial action began.
National President of ASUP, Mr. Usman Dutse, announced this during the union’s 14th National Delegates Conference at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State.
Mr. Dutse said the decision to suspend the strike followed series of meetings held between the leadership of the union and the Federal Government.
According to him, both parties agreed to a Memorandum of Settlement and Action, on each of the issues raised by the union.
The National President of the union also said that it considered the suspension to give an opportunity for implementation of the content of the Memorandum of Settlement and Action, which shall be reviewed according to the time lines outlined in the MoS,”.
