Maiden Edition of Women’s Football League in Anambra kicks off December

anambra-women-footballPlans have been concluded for the maiden edition of Women’s football league in Anambra State.

Disclosing this recently in Lagos, The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, said the league which kicks off in December is part of the FA’s development programme.

It is the first time Anambra State will be organizing football league for the women football clubs in the state.

He said that the FA is taking a holistic approach towards making the state the envy of other states in the country. According to him, Anambra FA recognises that there are as many talented female footballers in the state as there are in the male.

“ We are  starting the Anambra state women’s league in December. As part of the programme we  packaged aimed at making the state the number one in the country.

“We have talented girls who are playing for some clubs. We want to give women’s football some direction through organized league. We are staring this December and we believe it will successful, “ said Dr. Ubah who is also the President of FC Ifeanyi Ubah.
