TWO SHOT DEAD DURING THE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTIONS IN OBOSI, IDEMMILI NORTH L.G.A

Two persons have been reportedly shot dead during the House of Assembly and supplementary elections in Obosi, idemmili North local government area of Anambra state.
According to an eye witness, two cult groups , black axe and Vickins confraternity clashed during the exercise resulting to the death of two yet to be identified persons.
Similarly there was another shooting incident at polling units inside Immaculate catholic Church premises in ULA Ekwulobia involving two security guards following a scuffle.
One of the security man, Ngozi Gods will allegedly shot his colleague justice Anyadike on the leg and injured five other persons.
Confirming the incidents, the police Public Relations officer in Anambra state, Mr Haruna Muhammed said investigation was on to apprehend the fleeing cultists at Obosi while the principal security guard at Ekwulobia had been arrested and two pump action gun recovered.
Mr Muhammed said that there was also another shooting at Agulu township polling unit which led to the arrest of three suspects who had locally made pistol with four live ammunition.
He confirmed that the police in addition rescued a presiding officer ,Meniri Njideka who was allegedly abducted at Afor market square unit, Mbaukwu, in Awka south local government area.
The police public Relations Officer bit d that other offences recorded during the House of Assembly election in Anambra state includes case of thuggery at NRI, in Anaocha local government area, Umuoji ward in Ogidi and Nteje where security men responded promptly and effected arrests.
Radio Nigeria correspondent Uche Ndeke reports that the police command confirmed that a total of Forty seven suspects were arrested for various offences ranging from disruption of elections, malicious damage, thuggery , assault and unlawful possession of fire arms.
