PRAY FOR NIGERIA AND ITS LEADERS ……Prelate Methodist Church

The Prelate, Methodist Church Nigeria, the Most Reverend Samuel Kalu Uche, says the church has a fundamental duty to pray for the country and it’s leaders. This according to him, is in view of the current socio-political situation in the country.
Speaking with newsmen in Nnewi, the Most Reverend Uche stated that the present pace of development in Nigeria required peace and persistent prayers for a country where equity would take pre-eminence. He regretted that the country was faced with poverty despite the abundant resources it was endowed with and challenged political leaders to work for the betterment of the masses. According to the Most Reverend Uche, the level of disrespect on Nigerians by other nations is not good enough. On the issue of security, the Prelate, Methodist Church, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to give the matter deserved priority by appointing serious and selfless personnel in the sector to achieve the required results. He, however, condemned the recent attack on the former Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu by some members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, saying that instead of attacking him, the people should be praying for their leaders. Also, the Methodist Bishop of Onitsha, the Right Reverend Livinus Onuagha expressed satisfaction with the visit of the Prelate to Anambra State especially to appreciate the spiritual growth of the faithful.
