POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION ASSURES NIGERIANS OF VIOLENCE FREE ELECTIONS

With twenty two days to the conduct of Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Police Service Commission says it is committed to ensuring the conduct of violence free and fair elections.

A Commissioner in the Commission representing South East, Doctor Nkemka Jombo-Ofo gave the assurance while addressing members of the organized Private Sector in Enugu.
Doctor Jombo-Ofo, explained that the Commission had put in place necessary measures for the Police to be proactive during and after the elections.

According to Doctor Jombo-Ofo, maintaining law and order during the elections is paramount to the nation’s democracy to ensure economic stability and attract Investors to the country.

In a remark, the President Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr Emeka Udeze commended the Commission for its efforts to conduct smooth elections.
Mr Udeze called on the relevant stakeholders in election matters to collaborate with the Police Service Commission to maintain best political practices to strengthen the nation’s democracy.
