NUGLE ENUGU STATE SET TO ENSURE FULL PARTICIPATION OF MEMBERS IN 2019 ELECTIONS

A Political Sensitization Committee has been inaugurated by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NUGLE, Enugu State Chapter in line with its constitution to ensure full participation of members in the forthcoming general election in the countrry.

The inauguration was part of the activities to mark the forty years anniversary of the union.

Its forty years anniversary provided an opportunity for the workers to assess their performances and chat a new course for members.

Addressing newsman, the State President of NULGE, Comrade Kenneth Ugwueze said it had not been a bed of roses for workers in the past but expressed joy for a new dawn for Local Government workers in the State.

Comrade Ugwueze who praised Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his outstanding leadership in the State explained that the Political Committee was saddled with the responsibility of championing the set goals of the State NULGE network for good governance launched early this year.

The National Auditor of the Union, Comrade Lambert Onuigbo and a trustee, Comrade Ralph Eze maintained that Local Government workers had contributed a lot to the development of the nation and called for full autonomy at that level of government.

In an interview, other members including Comrade Emmanuel Asogwa, Richard Egwua and Princess Ogechukwu Ugwu commended the Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for prioritizing the welfare of workers and promised to continue to support his good programmes and policies.

Other Committees inaugurated by the Union include, Advisory Committee, Women and Social Committees.
