HIGH EXPECTATIONS AS PRESIDENT BUHARI VISITS EBONYI

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday visit Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State in continuation of his re-election campaign ahead of the forth coming general election.

The visit will be the second time President Buhari will be in Ebonyi State since he assumed office in 2015.

Correspondent Amechi Odo interacted with some chieftains of All Progressives Congress, government officials and security agencies to ascertain their level of preparedness for the visit.

President Buhari first came to Ebonyi State in November 2017 during which he inaugurated some projects completed by Governor David Umahi.

However, his visit this time is not only to canvass for votes for his re-election but to drum support for all the candidates of All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming general election.

The National President of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria, Chief Lazarus Nwachukwu described the visit as a welcome development as it would afford the people of the state the opportunity to interact with the President on their developmental needs.

An APC Chieftain in the state, Comrade Chinedu Ogar, said members of the party were happy to welcome President Buhari because of his numerous achievements especially in Agricultural sector.

Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal Security, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala, said Governor David Umahi had been meeting with security chiefs in the state to ensure that adequate security was provided for Mr. President.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Muhammed Mustafa said the command had beefed up security in the state capital for the visit.

Radio Nigeria observed that Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium had been made ready for the event.
