COUNTING OF VOTES IN PROGRESS IN UDI AND EZAGU

Counting of votes have commenced in virtually all the voting centres visited in Udi and Ezeagu Local Government Areas of Enugu State.

Across section of voters interviewed in some of the poling units in Ekenaene, Agbada Udi, Ofeke town hall, Abia, and Umumba Ndiuno, Akama Oghe communities in Udi were satisfied with the process when compared with that of Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Radio Nigeria also observed that card reader machines worked well in most of the areas visited except for Ogbugbuagu Ward in Iwollo Oghe, Ezeagu LGA.

Party Agents in some of the Polling units visited, including Miss Blessing Ugwunta, Mr. Ejike Okafor and Mr. Ezi Chukwudi who spoke with our correspondents Chinwe Atu and Christian Nwangene described the process as peaceful and impressive.

The Traditional ruler of Udi Kingdom, Igwe Chris Ogakwu however called for improvement in the electoral process so as to enthrone credible leadership, while the Chairman of Ezeagu Local Government Area, Mr Fred Ezinwa observed that the election coincided with the market day of his community which affected the turnout of voters in the area.
