The Chairman, All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has called for discipline and unity among the members of the party to fast-track its success. Dr. Nwoye, who made the call during the caucus meeting of the party in Enugu, explained that the aim of the meeting was for members to contribute their wealth of experience to lead the party to the right direction.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the meeting, the State Chairman announced that a committee had been set up to ensure full participation and success of APC during election in the state. The committee headed by a former Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Eugene Odoh, has a former Enugu
State Independent Electoral Commission’s Chairman, Dr. Bonny Eneh as Secretary.
According to Dr. Nwoye, a reconciliatory committee headed by retired Group Captain Joe Orji was also set up to look into the grievances of some members and bring them together for the progress of the party. Earlier in an opening address, the Vice President ,South East Zone of the party, Chief Emma Enukwu stressed the importance of unity in the party and expressed optimism that APC would emerge victorious with the influx of political juggernauts in the party.
Chief Enukwu called on members to be guided by the party’s constitution in all their activities.
The Chairman of the committee, Mr Eugene Odoh in an interview promised to discharge his duties creditably. The meeting attracted some stakeholders in the party, including a BOT member, General JOJOkolagu, Chief BaywoodIbe, the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Mr. Sullivan Chime, the Director General Voice of Nigeria, Mr. OsitaOkechukwu, Dr. Sam Onyishi and Chief OnyemucheNnamani as well as the state Woman Leader, Mrs. Queen Nwankwo.
