2020 APPROPRIATION BILL OF #136.6B PRESENTED TO ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

Governor OkezieIkpeazu of Abia State has presented the 2020 appropriation bill of one hundred and thirty six billion, six hundred and seventeen million naira to the Abia State House of Assembly.

Presenting the budget, Governor Ikpeazu said that sixty six billion, eight hundred and two million naira representing forty eight percent was for recurrent expenditure while sixty nine billion, eight hundred and fifteen million naira representing fifty one percent was for capital expenditure.

According to the Governor, the proposed 2020 appropriation bill is less than the 2019 budget which is one hundred and forty billion naira.

Governor Ikpeazu explained that the budget would be hinged on provision of enabling environment for investments to thrive, completion of ongoing projects, development of human capital and massive promotion of made in Aba goods and services.

Receiving the appropriation bill, the Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Mr. Chinedum Orji commended the Governor for the early presentation of proposed budget and assured him of speedy acceleration of the bill.

The appropriation bill is christened ‘Budget of Economic repositioning’.
