The Enugu State Executive Council has approved twenty-five million naira for the preparation of Local Government election in the state. The State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the council meeting held at government house.
Dr. Udeuhele explained that the said fund was part of the estimated fund for the election to be released to the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, for the purchase of none sensitive materials. Dr. Udeuhele further noted that the council approved twenty million naira to facilitate accreditation process of the School of Basic Midwifery, which it lost about eleven years ago.
Also approved according to the commissioner, was twenty million naira initial retainer ship fee for, Mr. Femi Falana for his competence in handling complex litigations, hence, the Enugu State Government employed his services for the twenty seventeen- twenty eighteen period.
The council approved eighty million naira to be paid to Senator Fidelis Okoro within ninety days, which was sequel to a high court judgment for the demolition of his house under the administration of Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani.
