YULETIDE: FRSC BEGINS REMOVAL OF OBSTRUCTIONS ON HIGHWAYS IN ANAMBRA

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will pay prompt attention to victims of road traffic crashes during, before and after the festive period.
Also the Corps has commenced the removal of all obstructions on highways for free flow of traffic.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Anambra State, Mr. Andrew Kumapayi, stated this in his office while interacting with journalists in Awka.
He noted that the command was collaborating with the state ministry of health to ensure that adequate attention was given to road traffic victims.
He maintained that some of the strategies lined up for the festive traffic control management included deployment of its personnel to all the local government areas.
Mr. Kumapayi also maintained that they would have a robost traffic control management in areas noted for high vehicular movements, especially Onitsha, Awka, Ekwulobia, Nnewi.
He lamented that the cartigories of vehicles involved in crashes in the state were mainly mini busses and articulated vehicles,
saying that they would not relent in their mandate through strict enforcement of road traffic rules and regulations.
Mr Kumapayi noted that the goal set by the command was to reduce the rate of road accidents by 15 percent this 2020 paying to met the Corps mission statement.
He expressed appreciation to both state and federal governments for rehabilitating some failed roads in the area.
