Imo State Government has officially commenced the reconstruction of the Owerri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads.
The projects are being executed at the cost of fifty-five billion naira.
The State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma on the occasion in Orlu Local Government Area said the work would be completed in the next eighteen months.
Governor Uzodinma said the state had already paid fifteen percent of the total contract sum, which also covered construction of drainage.
He appealed to those whose communities were closed to the roads to cooperate with the contractor, noting that no property would be demolished during the project.
Earlier, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Raph Nwosu, emphasized that the ministry was working round the clock to fix all the major roads in the state, including federal roads.
