WIFE OF ENUGU STATE GOV CANVASSES PROPER RECORD OF CHILD’S IMMUNIZATION

The Wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi, has advised women of reproductive age to keep proper record of their children’s healthcare to avoid double immunization.

Mrs. Ugwuanyi gave the advice while declaring open the 2018 Enugu State Maternal and Child Health Week at Enugu State University Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu.

She explained that proper documentation of immunization would guide medical personnel on the correct drug to administer and assured mothers in the state of continued adequate attention.

The Wife of the Governor gave lectures on the need to maintain proper hygiene and administration of drugs to the children.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Finta Ekochin maintained that the state had recorded giant strides in improving maternal and child health as well as revitalization of health facilities to meet global standard.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Hilary Agbo, said the exercise would take place in all the health facilities in the State and other designated places including schools, churches and palaces of traditional rulers.

Two of the nursing mothers, Amaka Uchennadiukwu and Obanuju James, commended the free maternal and child health programme of the State Government and promised to extend what they learnt to others.
