REPORTER: CHUKWUKA AGUKWE
President Muhammadu Buhari has admonished the new National President, Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) the Most Reverend David Onuoha, to use his office to chat course for the unity of the country.
President Buhari made this known in a church service at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of our Lord (CATOL), Anglican Diocese of Owerri.
Represented by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, President Buhari said Bishop Onuoha with his wealth of experience in God’s vine yard would help in the development of Nigeria.
In a sermon, the new CCN President, who is also the Anglican Bishop of Okigwe South, the Most Reverend David Onuoha, called on Churches to remain unbiased and have a common goal to achieve peace and progress.
He said no religion alone could work out the purposes of God, noting that unity transcended the national interest.
