USE 2023 GENERAL ELECTION TO ENTHRONE GOOD LEADERSHIP IN NIGERIA— OCHIJE

REPORTER: UCHE NDEKE

As Nigeria marks her 62nd Independence anniversary, a political affairs commentator, Comrade Obi Ochije, has called on the federal government to put well thought out measures in place to reduce the sufferings of the masses.

Comrade Ochije, who made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Awka, Anambra State, said the high cost of most commodities in the country had brought untold hardship to the greater population of the citizenry.

He commended the founding fathers of the country for their gallantry in securing the nation’s Independence from the grip of colonial masters.

Comrade Ochije, however, expressed regret that corruption, occasioned by bad leadership, had crippled the country’s wheel of progress and slowed down the realization of the dreams of the funding fathers more than six decades after.

Comrade Ochije noted that though the country had achieved a lot in the past 62 years, a lot more still needed to be done to guarantee the continued existence of Nigeria.

The political affairs commentator called on Nigerians to use the upcoming general election in 2023 to elect credible leaders, who could turn around the present economic quagmire the country is experiencing.

According to the analyst, the electorate have the opportunity to change the present narratives in the education, health and other sectors by voting young and energetic leaders.
