UMUAHIA RESIDENTS CLEAN UP THE CITY AFTER VIOLENT PROTEST

The Chief of Staff to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Chief Anthony Agbazuere, has applauded Abia residents for coming out en masse during the sanitation scheduled by the Governor against the wanton destruction of government and private property by the #EndSARS protesters.
Addressing the people at School Road Primary school, Umuahia, Chief Agbazuere expressed dissatisfaction with the destruction done by the protesters and called on people of the state to do their best always to maintain the peace in the state, while leaving the government to do its own.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria, one of the participants in the exercise and 2019 MISS ABIA, Miss Michelle Nwagbara, commended Governor Ikpeazu for organising a clean-up of that magnitude.
She also commended the patriotism exhibited by the participants in the exercise, stressing that there was no place like home.
Another participant and civil servant,
Mr. Chinedu Ukaoha, described the sanitation as a welcomed development, especially this time the streets were littered with dirts caused by violent protesters.
Radio Nigeria observed that there was adequate security was on ground during the exercise and Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) provided vehicles that carted away the refuse.
Some of the areas where the Clean-Up took place in Umuahia were School Road, Aba Road, Bank Road and Library Avenue.
