TRUCK FAILS BREAK, CRUSHES 4 VEHICLES IN ABAKALIKI

A heavy duty vehicle, with Lagos registration number XB423BDG, carrying Catapillar parts has smashed four cars following break failure at Judiciary Headquarters axis of Ogoja Road Abakaliki, EBonyi State.

The driver of the heavy duty vehicle, Mr. Promise NBA, said he was conveying the parts to Aba, Abia State when the engine of the truck malfunctioned and rolled over cars on traffic.

Although no life was lost, one victims of the accident, Mr. Augustine Akpu, expressed shock over the development pointing out that he would have lost his life in the accident if not God.

Another victim, Mr. Afamefuna Okeke, said his two cars were involved in the accident as his mechanic was queuing behind him on traffic when the truck started rolling back.

Meanwhile, the accident resulted in serious grid lock as security agents made frantic efforts to divert traffic to a safe lane.
