policeThe Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwanyi has urged the officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Enugu State command to shore up its war  activities on criminality to make the state retain its enviable position as one of the safest in the country.

Governor Ugwuanyi who made this charge during an interactive session with top officers of the command, led by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, commended them for some achievements and show of professionalism in handling of security matters in the state.

During the interactive session held at the Superior Officers’ Mess of the state police command, governor Ugwuanyi enjoined the officers to lay bear grey areas and issues that challenge the officers in their fight against crime in Enugu metropolis and it’s environs.

Applauding the governor for his people driven approach of governance,‎the state police commissioner, Mr. Ojukwu who hosted the governor and other top government officials on the occasion, thanked him for assisting the police force execute it’s constitutional duties in the state and said that the interaction was the first of its kind a governor getting so close to the details of how the police do its work.

The session was attended by assistant commissioners heading various sections of the police headquarters, the three police area commanders from the three senatorial districts in the state, all divisional police officers(DPOs) from across the state, among others.
