STUDENTS DRAG MD OF FED NEURO-PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL ENUGU TO COURT, DEMAND ₦5 MILLION COMPENSATION

The final year students of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Enugu have dragged the management of the hospital to National Industrial Court, Enugu.

The students among other reliefs, are praying the court to compel the management of the hospital to pay ₦5,000,000 (five million naira) to them for the loss of time and academic years they suffered, owing to the failure of the management to register them for the Nursing Council Examination.

Joined as defendant in the suit are the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Jojo Onwukwe, and another staff of the hospital, Doctor Andrew Orovwigho.

They also prayed the court to deny the first defendant, Dr. Onwukwe, to stay all actions aimed at imposing Dr. Andrew Orovwigho, as the Head of Training and Research, Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Enugu, for failure.

It could be recalled that the final year students had earlier protested against the failure of the hospital to register them for the Nursing Council Examination.
