Markets, shops, banks and filling stations, motor parks, schools and most government offices are also closed for businesses.

Some persons, who spoke with Radio Nigeria on the condition of anonymity, explained that they did not go out for fear of being attacked by hoodlums.

According to them, the series of attacks, sporadic gun shots and killing experienced in some parts of the city on Sunday did not encourage them to move out today (Monday May, 31) as the situation might be worse.

However, security operatives were seen in strategic locations while some of them were patrolling the roads apparently to maintain law and order.

A helicopter was also sighted in the air hovering, but later disappeared.

So far, sit-at-home order has remained peaceful except reported shooting of Justice Stanley Nnaji, a former Judge in Enugu state.

According to report, he was dragged down from his black Mercedes Benz Jeep and shot dead.

The incident happened Sunday evening along Okpara Avenue by Ebeano Tunnel roundabout.

However, Police is yet to release official statement confirming the incident.
