The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, says President Muhammadu Buhari is working very hard to ensure that all promises his administration made to Nigerians on nation building are kept.
He stated this shortly after the revalidation of his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at New Market Polling Booth One in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Dr. Onu explained that founders of the party in the country had resolved to reinvent certain national values missing in the nation’s political system to enable government to earn the trust of the citizens.
“The time has come for a political party that can get back certain values that were missing in our system, for example there was the need for Nigerians to start trusting their government because trust is very important and you can only trust the government when government is doing the things it promised it will do,” the Minister remarked.
Dr. Onu, however, pointed out that such trust could only be earned when government on its part kept to its promises, emphasising that the Second Niger Bridge among other numerous capital projects were in conformity with the vision of the party’s founding fathers.
“We have to be a little bit more patient with this administration because President Muhammadu Buhari means well because he is keeping many of the promises he made not minding that he came at a time the revenue was on the decline, now that it is hovering around sixty dollar, this is one of the best for the past five years, you can see with less he is doing more,” Dr. Onu claimed.
The Minister, who described youths in the country as a treasure, stressed that the future belonged to them and urging them to get involved in partisan politics to build a Nigeria of their dream.
Dr. Onu was accompanied to the venue of the registration by his wife and the Nigeria Ambassador to Argentina and Peru, Chief Jonah Nkpuruka.
