REMOVE THE CORPSE OF UNKNOWN MAN BEFORE IT STARTS DECOMPOSING — RESIDENTS BEG ANAMBRA STATE GOVT

An unidentified young man is reportedly lying dead on Club Road Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

The deceased wore Jean trousers, shirt and canvas as flies continued hovering around him.

Residents of the street said they found the corpse Monday morning, a day after the Valentine Day celebration.

A resident of the area, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told Radio Nigeria that the young man was popular in the area as he walked around most times drunk.

Another resident alleged that he was epileptic but no one knew where he hailed from.

As at the time of this report, the copse was still lying on the road and no one could explain what led to his death.

Club Road, formerly known as Abakiliki Street, was beehive of activities on Sunday evenings as people trooped in their numbers to mark Valentine Day celebration.

In the meantime, concerned residents have appealed to the relevant government agencies to remove the corpse before it starts decomposing with associated foul smell.
