REDEEM PLEDGE YOU MADE TO NIGERIA LEGION — GOV UZODIMMA BEGS

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State wants Nigerians to show more compassion to families of fallen heroes, whom he said, laid down their lives for the peace and unity of the nation.

In an address to mark the 2022 Armed Forces and Remembrance Day Celebration in Owerri, the Governor said the level of sacrifice made by members of the armed forces could not be quantified, hence the need to celebrate them always.

Governor Uzodimma called on those who made promises to the Nigerian Legion to redeem their pledges to enable them cater for their families.

He recounted the roles played by the armed forces in fighting insecurity in Imo State, noting that his administration would continue to pay attention to the welfare of soldiers serving in the state.

Highlights of the event were the laying of wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, special parade and release of pigeons, which signified peace.
