The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, says the Nigeria police will not tolerate another round of #EndSARS protest in the country.

The IGP stated this in Awka during his visit to Anambra State in continuation of his tour of States to ascertain degree of damage caused during the #EndSARS protest which was characterized by violence.

Mr. Adamu, while commiserating with the people over the level of damage done to police facilities in the state, charged men of the state command to ensure that any further protest was nipped in the bud.

The IGP also charged his personnel to resist any attempt to attack government property, including police formations across the country.

At the Anambra State Police Command headquarters, where the IGP addressed top officers of the command, he charged them to rise to the challenge of protecting the state.

He reiterated the commitment of the force towards protecting the right of citizens to peaceful protest, but warned that it would not allow miscreants maim and kill its operatives.

The police boss commended President Mohammadu Buhari for ensuring that the welfare of officers of the Nigeria Police Force was improved upon and called on youths to apply decorum in demanding for good governance.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. John Abang, who led the IGP round some affected facilities, expressed regret that misguided elements suddenly launched attacks on police personnel and facilities from October 21, 2020 in Nnewi to October 24, 2020 in Uli, and other parts of Anambra South Senatorial District of the state.
