PPSMB TO RELEASE RESULT OF LAST BATCH OF TEACHERS’ RECRUITMENT IN ENUGU STATE

The Enugu State House of Assembly has appealed to stakeholders in education sector to sustain the progress made in repositioning public schools in the State.

The Chairman House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Chief Erochukwu Ugwueze, made the appeal at the Assembly Complex Enugu during an expanded-separate meeting with some management of schools and boards under the Ministry of Education.

The oversight with managements of some higher institutions and boards under the Ministry of Education would be the last Committee assignment as the sixth Assembly winds up.

There were emotion, commendation from managements of higher institutions and Chairmen of Boards in the State as they went down memory lane on their activities with the Committee for the past four years.

The Chairman of the Committee, Chief Erochukwu Ugwueze, appealed to them not to abandon education policies made towards repositioning public schools and improving technical and vocational education in the State.

He commended the co-operation given to the Committee and urged them to extend same to the incoming seventh Assembly Committee, noting that the present government had demonstrated capacity in providing quality and affordable education for the residents of the State.

Some other members of the Committee, including Chief Anthony Ogidi, Mr. James Akadu and Mr. Obinna Okenwa in their separate speeches, commended the Chairman of the State Post Primary School Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Nestor Ezeme, for taking the lead in repositioning public secondary schools through rehabilitation and provision of instructional materials to schools.

In a remark, the Chairman of the State Science Technical and Vocational Management Board, Mr. Obinna Kama, commended the Committee for its contribution in improving technical education in the State.

The Chairman PPSMB described the outgoing Chairman of the Committee, Chief Erochukwu Ugwueze, as a dependable partner.

Mr. Ezeme promised that result of the last batch of the teachers’ recruitment conducted by the Board would be released soon.
