POLICE PRESENT CHEQUES TO FAMILIES OF DECEASED OPERATIVES IN ABIA

REPORTER: LAWRENCE NWOKEDI

The Police command in Abia State has presented cheques worth millions of naira to families of deceased policemen and those that sustained injuries while carrying out their official duties.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, while presenting the cheques on behalf of the Acting Inspector General of Police at the Police headquarters in Umuahia, said the Police Force would continue to support and stand by the families of the fallen heroes.

He noted that the money would help to ease the financial burden families of the dead police personnel might be facing since the death of their beloved ones.

Mr. Onwuemelie urged the benefitting families to make judicious use of the money.

Responding on behalf of the families, Mr. Okey David thanked the Acting Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised that the money would be put into good use.

Thirty-five families of the dead police officers and injured ones were presented with the cheques.
