POLICE ORDER INVESTIGATION AS THREE MURDERED IN ANAMBRA

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. Nnaghe Itam, has ordered investigation into the murder of three persons at Isionye land, a boundary between Enugu ukwu and Nwafia communities.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement said the incident left five other persons seriously injured.

The statement explained that preliminary information revealed that the victims were lured by some individuals through a phone call to the land in a guise of a land transaction and then attacked them with guns and machetes.

The statement said the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Itam, had called for calm as Police operatives had recovered the abandoned Sennia vehicle used by the suspected murderers.

Mr. Ikenga pointed out that the testimonies of the injured victims, who were currently receiving treatment in the hospital, was aiding the investigation, while the bodies of the deceased had been deposited in a morgue.
