POLICE KILL ONE, RESCUE KIDNAP VICTIM AFTER SUSPECTS DEMANDED N30M RANSOM

A kidnap victim (name withheld), who was allegedly abducted in Umuoghara quarry site in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has been rescued by operatives of the state police command . The victim was allegedly whisked away from his shop by kidnappers in Police uniforms, who pretended they were looking for someone else, and demanded for N30million ransom. The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP George Okafor,confirming the kidnap, said the hoodlums took the victim whose name could not be immediately ascertained and demanded N30million ransom. “The hoodlums kept the victim in a hide-out in Umuoghara and demanded N30m ransom which they later reduced. “The ransom was taken to where the kidnappers said it should be dropped, unknown to them that Policemen had cordoned everywhere. “So, the police opened fire on them and killed one of them. The victim was rescued unhurt.”
