POLICE IN EBONYI ARREST THREE SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS

Police operatives in Ebonyi State have arrested three suspected hoodlums, who allegedly kidnapped an Inspector attached to Police College Enugu, Mr. Ogbonnaya Oliver, and a community leader, Mr. Paul Ngara, of Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, gave the names of the suspected kidnappers as Elochukwu Ojukwu, Busa Iliyasu and Umaru Ahijo.

The statement noted that the operatives tracked the suspects to their hideout in a forest between Amata Ishiagu Ebonyi State and Lokpanta in Abia State where the victims were rescued after a shoot out.

The statement said one of the hoodlums was shot dead while two AK 47 rifles, one long double barrel gun, forty five AK 47 live ammunition and seventy live cartridges were among weapons recovered from them.
