POLICE BURST ROBBER’S DEN IN ABIA STATE, FOUR CRIMINALS ARRESTED

HAKThe Police Command in Abia state has arrested four suspected armed robbers in Umukana village in Ugwunagbo local government area of the state.

Parading the suspects in Umuahia the Police Public Relations Officer in the state DSP Udeviotu Onyeke said that the men were arrested in a hotel through a tip off.

He noted that it was after an interrogation by the Police one of the suspects the led to the arrest of the fourth suspect in a hideout in a bush.

The PPRO also gave the names of the suspects as Godwin Onukwe, Sunday Noah, Samuel Onyeka and Chimezie Ezigbo from Ebonyi state.

In an interview two of the suspects Godwin Onukwe and Chimezie Ezigbo denied being involved in any criminal acts stating that they were in a hotel drinking when Police arrested them.

The command also arrested one suspected kidnapper Chukwuemeka Obidike from Arondizuogu in Imo state who in company of others now at large kidnapped his Boss at cemetery Market in Aba.

The suspect in an interview admitted committing the crime and said that he received the sum of fifty thousand naira as his share from the ransom they collected from the family of their victim.

Correspondent Lawrence Nwokedi reports that one of the items recovered from the suspected armed robbers was a light assault rifle.
