POLICE ARREST 2 ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN EBONYI

Police in Ebonyi State have nabbed two suspected armed robbers, who allegedly snatched a Lexus 330 SUV with registration number ENU 277 MM at gun point in Aguogboriga Estate, Abakaliki.

The duo whose names were given as Ugo Ogbonna from Amachi in Izzi Local Government Area and Joseph Emeka from Iboko also in Izzi allegedly beat and tied their victim at his residence before driving away with the vehicle.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Chris Anyanwu, explained that the suspected hoodlums were later intercepted by soldiers at a checkpoint at the Ukwuakpu axis of Abakaliki Ogoja Expressway.

The statement further explained that the duo later escaped into the bush but were arrested through the assistance of the villagers.

It noted that the suspects would be subjected to further investigations.
