Paucity Of Funds Hinders Development Of Tennis In Enugu State
The executive chairman, Enugu sports club Mr. Obum Arum has called on government and provate sector to sponsor the game of tennis to make it lucrative and encourage people to participate.
Speaking to Radio Nigeria, Mr. Arum said that the sports club in the state has the capacity of hosting high class tournaments where talents could be harnessed to represent the state and country in various championships.
He pointed out that due to paucity of funds the club has not been able to introduce the game of tennis in the secondary schools to encourage the growth and awareness from the grass root.
Mr. Obum Arum commended the Nigeria Communication Commission for introducing a tennis programme that would soon become a tennis league in the country where young vibrant Nigerians would become world champions.
