The Kano State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has congratulated the Igwe-elect of Ogidi Kingdom in Anambra State, Chief Alex Onyido, for his elevation as Ezezeremagha of Ogidi community, describing it as a well-deserved appointment.
The AUTHORITY reports that Chief Onyido, a pharmacist and successful business man was for decades, one of the pillars of the Igbo Community in Kano State, with his company, PAL Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd, as one of the largest employers of labour, within the private sector in the state.
The installation of Chief Onyido as the Ezezeremagha came after the demise of the immediate past traditional ruler of Ogidi kingdom.
In a statement jointly signed by Kano state chapter President and Coordinator of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Chris Chukwubuzor Azuka and Chief Emeka Chukwuma, Ohanaeze expressed confidence in the new king.
The Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation advised him to rule with equity and justice, adding that Ohanaeze can attest to the fact that Igwe Ezezeremagha will deploy his wealth of knowledge and experience in attracting progress and development to his kingdom.
Ohaneze Ndigbo also prayed for a long, peaceful and fruitful reign for the new king.
