NYSC EXTENDS SERVICE YEAR OF NINE CORPS MEMBERS IN EBONYI AS NEW COORDINATOR ASSUMES OFFICE

REPORTER: AMECHI ODO

Four hundred and seventy-four 2022 Batch B Stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to Ebonyi State have completed their service year.

Their passing out, which coincided with the assumption of office of a new Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Diana Narsamu, took place at NYSC Secretariat in Abakaliki.

It was gathered that outside the number who successfully completed their service year, four corps members absconded while nine had their service year extended for committing sundry offences.

Addressing the corp members, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Narsanu, charged them to treasure their certificate as it remianef one of the most valuable documents required for public service in the country.

The new Coordinator, who was deployed from the Certification Department, NYSC Headquarters Abuja, warned the corps members to ensure that they were cleared by NYSC Verification Unit before the collection of their certificates, noting that many public office holders parade original Discharge certificates which had no clearance signature.

She commended them for their patience to serve their father land and enjoined them to be self enterprising, leveraging on what they learnt during their service year.

Two of the corp members, Miss Favour Okedi and Mr. Osahimrume Igbogo, said they were happy to have served their father land and promised to continue to be the ambassadors of the scheme.
