NSCDC ENUGU STATE COMMAND INAUGURATES ISOLATION CENTRE IN OJI-RIVER

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC Enugu State Command has inagurated an isolation Centre with one hundred and fifty bed space.

Inaugurating the Centre at NSCDC Training School Achi in Oji River Local Government Area, the Commandant, Mr. Evaristus Chimezie Obiyo, said the facility would serve as isolation Centre for any case of COVID-19 in the State. Mr. Obiyo noted that the Command had provided necessary logistics, in terms of medical equipment, needed for the centre to function effectively, stressing that additional logistics would soon arrive at the Centre.

He explained that about three hundred trained officers of the Command had already been deployed to assist in managing the isolation centre. He pointed out that the Command set up the facility to complement the efforts of the State Government in containing the spread of the virus.

On the location of the Centre, the NSCDC boss said that the Command had enough operational vehicles to convey suspected persons from any part of the State to the Centre, noting that more vehicles would be deployed if need be. Mr. Obiyo urged the public to maintain environmental cleanliness and observe personal hygiene by washing their hands and using hand sanitizer regularly to avoid contacting the dreaded corona virus.
