He made the call at a town hall meeting to sensitize stakeholders to the importance of the exercise at Onueke, the headquarters of Ezza South Local Government Area; and Ebiaji, the headquarters of Ezza North Local Government Area.

The trial census slated to hold from 13th to 30th of July is taking place seventeen years after the last one was held in the country.

The Federal Commissioner National Population Commission in charge of Ebonyi State, Chief Darlington Okereke explained that the objective of the trial census was to test run the equipment and other digital gadgets acquired for the actual census slated for April 2023.

Chief Okereke noted that Ezzama Community with five Enumeration Areas, EAs was selected in Ezza South while Orieuzor community, with five EAs was selected for the trial census in Ezza North and appealed for deep involvement of the stakeholders.

The Senior Personal Assistant to the Chairman of Ezza South, Mr. Chinedu Ngwuta and a community leader, Chief Declan Alegu, said for the state to get it right in the next coming census, all sons and daughters of the state must compulsorily return home while the culture of silence on the number of children in a family must be jettisoned.

The trial census will take place in nine of the thirteen Local Government Areas of the state.
