REPORTER: CHIKA EWURUM

The Anglican Archbishop of Owerri Province, the Most Rev. David Onuoha, has called on Nigerians to uphold the unity of the country for her survival.

The Most Rev. Onuoha gave the message to Nigerians as the Nation marks her 63rd Independence Anniversary.

The Archbishop remarked that both the leaders and the led must realize that “they do not have another country than Nigeria.”

He enjoined Nigerians to seek the face of God for forgiveness of sins committed, opportunities wasted, wealth squandered and the unbridled selfishness that defined the actions and intentions of the people.

According to the clergyman, being deliberate and intentional in steering the country off the highway of corruption, impunity, and greed, in which it is presently moving at a breath-taking speed, is the only way to see to the rebirth the people desire.

Archbishop Onuoha who is also the National President Christian Council of Nigeria advised the citizens to resolve to make Nigeria work and be resolute in pursuing the wellbeing of all.

He maintained that in spite of all difficulties and trials associated with nation building, Nigeria has remained afloat.
