MOHAMMED NDATDU ALIYU ASSUMES OFFICE AS ENUGU STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

Mr. Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu has assumed duty as the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command.

He is the 24th Commissioner of Police since the creation of Enugu State.

A Statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Daniel Ndukwe Ekea explains that Mr. Aliyu takes over from Mr. AbdurRahman Ahmed, “who is proceeding to National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPS), Kuru-Jos, Plateau State on Executive Management Course.”

According to the statement, Mr. Aliyu, who enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police , hails from Dafa in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory and is a graduate of Political Science from the Bayero University Kano.

The statement noted that until his deployment to the Command, Mr. Aliyu was the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command of the Force.

He had served in different Commmands, Formations and Force Headquarters, Abuja.

Specifically, he has served as “Deputy Commissioner, Federal Operations and the pioneer Disaster Management Officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja; Commissioner of Police Borno State Command,” the statement indicated.

Meanwhile, the statement adds that “the new Police Commissioner has assured commitment to foster the best policing practices in order to rid the State of acts of crime and criminality, while entreating Ndị Enugu to remain vigilant, law-abiding and supportive to make this goal a reality.”
