Properties worth over three million naira have been gutted by fire at Power Shop, Amakama Road, Isicourt in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria, the owner of the affected portion of the building, Mrs. Chinyere Joseph, said she left her shop at 9pm Wednesday only to be called by midnight that fire had gutted the place.

Mrs. Joseph pointed out that she rushed to the place at that time but saw all her property razed by fire.

Mrs. Joseph noted that she used the shop for restaurant and beer parlour.

She listed deep freezers, a giant generator, gas cookers, stabilizers, tables, seats, fans, crates and bottles of drinks among property destroyed by the fire.

Mrs. Joseph maintained that all electrical appliances were put off before leaving the shop, and decried the attitude of bad elements in the area.

She also lamented the activities of thieves who had visited the area several times, stressing that these had adversely affected her future.

The woman appealed to government and spirited individuals to come to her aid.
