LOCAL SECURITY NABS SUSPECTED CULT MEMBERS IN AMECHI AMECHI AWKUNANAW COMMUNITY

The Neighborhood Watch, Amechi Ward one, Onuagu zone, Enugu South Local Government Area, has apprehend suspected a ten-man cult gang that has been terrorising the area.
The gang members were said to have been operated on the Onuagu axis of Amechi, Awkunanaw, Enugu, and were arrested after they allegedly robbed a lady, at gunpoint, of her hand bag, containing phone and other items.
The Chairman, Neighborhood Watch, Amechi Ward one, Onuagu zone, Mr. Richard Onyema Agbo, said they apprehended the gang following a tip-off from one of the Neighborhood Watch officials, about the activities of the group.
Mr. Agbo said he would hand over the suspects to relevant security agencies for further investigation…
The Secretary of the Neighborhood Watch group, Mr. Amos Okenwa, said he observed a sinister movement around a particular mud house located in the Onuagu Amechi and alerted his colleagues, who swooped on the boys and arrested some of them while, others escaped.
Mr. Okenwa told Radio Nigeria that they had started trailing those that escaped with the hope of getting them arrested to face justice.
Reacting, the Chairman of Enugu South Local Government Area, Mr. Monday Eneh, commended the security personnel for bursting the gang.
Mr. Eneh said he would continue to place premium on the security of lives and property of the people.
Items allegedly recoverd from the suspects included, phones and substance suspected to be marijuana.
