IMPROVE PROVISION OF HEALTH, SOCIAL SECURITY & FOOD – UNICEF FOR CHILDREN — UNICEF BEGS GOVT

On the occassion of the 2021 International Children’s Day of Broadcasting, the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF encourages governments to ensure improved education, healthcare, social security and feeding, especialy as it affects children, without discrimination.

The Chief, UNICEF, Enugu Field Office, Dr. Ibrahim Conteh, who explains that the day demands that broadcasters around the world promote children related quality programmes, stresses the need for children to be allowed to participate in these programmes.

He noted that child rights among other provisions, stipulated that children should participate and be heard, especially on issues that affect them.

International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) was created by UNICEF in 1991 and celebrated first Sunday of March, every year.
