IMO STATE GOVT. THREATENED TO REVOKE ROAD CONTRACT… Commissioner for Works

Imo State government has threatened to revoke the contract for the reconstruction of Naze- Ihiagwa-Obinze road in Owerri west local government area of the state if the firm handling the project did not increase its pace. The Commissioner for Works Chief Ralph Nwosu handed down the threat while inspecting some roads undergoing rehabilitation in the state.

Chief Nwosu regretted the poor state of the road which connects two Federal tertiary institutions and industrial clusters, noting that the government would not allow unserious contractors to frustrate its efforts at bringing respite to the people. He however expressed satisfaction with the level of job done at Akachi road, Dig Tiger road, Chukwuma Nwoha road, MCC road, Mbonu Ojike street and Aladinma axis, all in Owerri the state capital.

The Commissioner explained that the state had a total of forty four ongoing road projects across the state and assured that the government would not abandon any of the roads awarded by the immediate past administration. Some residents of the state who spoke with our Correspondent commended the government for executing the jobs despite the rains but called for speedy completion of the projects to ease movement.
