IMO STATE GOVT BEGINS RECONSTRUCTION OF AWO OMAMMA-OKWUDOR ROAD

Imo State Government has commenced reconstruction and rehabilitation of twelve kilometer Awo Omamma-Okwudor Road to boost economic activity in the area.

At the commissioning of the reconstruction work, the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, said the rehabilitation became imperative to ease the over twenty years sufferings of commuters on the road and enable rural farmers have access to the urban markets.

According to the Governor, the road contract will be completed in eighteen months.

Senator Uzodinma announced that the state government was doing everything necessary to fix some bad spots on the Onitsha-Owerri expressway to reduce the stress passengers would undergo during the Christmas season.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Raph Nwosu, said the road, which was constructed in the late seventies would reconnect Orlu, Oru East, Njaba, Nkwerre and other adjoining Local Government Areas.
