GOV.UZODINMA INAUGURATES ARMY OFFICERS MESS

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has commended the Nigeria Army for its efforts in the fight against terrorism and maintenance  peace in the country. Senator Uzodinma stated this in Owerri during the inauguration of Officers Mess initiated by the Commander 34 Artillery  Brigade Obinze in Owerri and completed by the Imo State Government.

He said the State Government would continue to extend hands of fellowship to the Nigeria Army and other security agencies in the State to help combat crime. The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai reperesented by the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Enugu, Major General Lasisi Adegboye noted that the purpose of the project was to provide recreational facilities in the barracks for the benefit of the personnel.

He explained that the facilities would further promote civil military cooperation as part of its vision to achieve the desired collaboration with the civil populace in the host communities.

Also, the Chief host  and Commander, 34 Artillery Brigade Obinze, Brigadier General Yusuf Tukura thanked the State Government for it’s  support in providing temporal accommodation for the officers to alleviate their plight. The highpoint of the event was the presentation of gift to the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
