IMO RESIDENTS COMPLY WITH SIT AT HOME ORDER

The Sit-at-Home Order issued across the south east by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) today witnessed total compliance in Imo State.

The Sit-At-Home Order, which is usually marked annually on the 30th May to honour Igbos who died during the civil war was shifted this year to May 31 to enable people attend Sunday services.

IMSU JUNCTION, OWERRI

Radio Nigeria gathered that roads across Imo State are deserted and no single vehicle has been seen plying the areas.

At owerri the state capital, markets were closed, shops under lock, banks and filling stations were all closed for business.

However security agents were seen patrolling along major roads and streets of Owerri.

Road blocks are also mounted at strategic locations apparently to further beef security in the state.

The exercise is coming when security situation in the state has remained unpredictable following attacks by unknown gunmen.

The Imo State Government and Police authority in the state had asked residents to ignore the call for sit at home while assuring them of adequate security of lives and property.
