Imo Local Government Council Election to hold in January 2017.

OKOROCHAImo state Executive council meeting Chaired by Gov. Rochas Okorocha rose Thursday last week with some critical decisions that are aimed at touching the lives of Imolites.

In a press release, the Hon Commissioner for information, Tourism and Public utilities, Imo State, Dr. Vitalis Orikeze Ajumbe, the state Independent Electoral Commission will conduct the Local Government Council Election by January 2017.

To cushion the effect of unemployment in Imo State, Council approved the employment of five graduates per ward from the 305 Inec wards in the State, to beef up the civil Service of Imo State. The graduates must however be computer literate.

According to Dr. Ajumbe, the state govt. has resolved to pay pensioners for the Month of August 2016, while negotiations with the Pensioners Union will continue on how to settle the remaining arrears.

The Hon. Commissioner used the occasion to advice yam sellers at Eke-Ukwu Owerri market, Ama Awusa Douglas Road and street traders on the same road to relocate by September 30 to avoid a breach of the law.
