IMO GOVT COMMENCES 1ST PHASE OF PALLIATIVE DISTRIBUTION

Imo State Government has assured the residents of the state of equal rights in distribution of bags of rice irrespective of political differences.

Governor Hope Uzodimma stated this at the official commencement of the distribution of sixty five thousand bags of rice in Owerri.

Governor Uzodimma explained that the state government had confirmed the receipt of seven billion naira from Federal Government as pallitives to ammeriorate the economic challenges due to petrol subsidy removal.

The Governor said that of the four billion naira for the purchase of rice, two billion had been received and used to purchase sixty-five thousand bags of the commodity for distribution.

He explained that the palliatives would cut across the length and breath of the state, including the federal government establishments.

The Pallitives Distribution Planning Committee is headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Cosmas Iwu.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the event is the phase one of the Palliative distribution.
