I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY FORM OF POLITICAL VIOLENCE UNDER MY WATCH: AIG of Police Zone 6

The Assistant Inspector General, AIG of Police in charge of Zone six Calabar, Mr. Samuel Ogunjemilusi says no political party under his watch will be allowed to manipulate the process of the forthcoming General Election on the excuse of possessing federal might.

Mr. Ogunjemilusi stated this during a familiarization visit to Ebonyi State Police Command headquarters in Abakaliki.

Addressing members of Police Community Relations Committee, representatives of political parties, Traditional Rulers and leaders of Hausa and Yourba communities in the State, the AIG said necessary measures had been put in place to ensure the neutrality of police in the election.

Mr. Ogunjemilusi warned that the he would not tolerate any form of political violence in any State under his command and directed vehicle owners who cover their plate numbers to desist from such act as it provided cover for criminals to operate.

He described Ebonyi as the most peaceful State in zone six and urged stakeholders in security sector to collaborate with the police to achieve violence free electioneering.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Musa Kimo assured the AIG of the commitment of officers and men of the command towards strengthening the prevailing peace in the area.

A member of Police Community Relations Committee, Chief Cyprian Chizoba attributed the prevailing peace in Ebonyi State to the policing style of the new Commissioner of Police.
